Dedicated or Static IP's are in short supply and ARIN (American Registry for Internet Numbers) has been pushing hosting companies to conserve IP space and promote name-based hosting instead. ARIN no longer accepts virtual accounts as sufficient justification for an IP assignment. We have therefore been forced to make it a necessary requirement that any dedicated or static IP assignments to domains must only be made if it is absolutely required.
Because of this IP assignments are only allowed if they are to be used for any of the following reasons:
1) SSL or Shared SSL
2) Third Party DNS
3) Anonymous FTP
4) Virtual FTP
Customers who require the use of dedicated IP's for reasons other than listed above are requested to write to INFO AT ONTRACKWEBHOSTING DOT NET for further information or clarification on this before changing to a dedicated or static ip.
Thank you for your Co Operation in this matter.
Sincerely,
Ontrack Webhosting Services |
